5 New Age Ideas for Business Success
1. Innovation
Innovative businesses fly high. Innovation is the key to
remain competitive in a crowded market. Whether it’s marketing approach,
modifications and updates in product/service, or reducing operating costs,
innovation is possible in every chunk of a business division. It’s not just
about new products and new business models. Look at the highly successful companies,
you’ll see research and innovation find top priority in their agenda. Why not
apply the rule even if it’s a small business? May be in a small way…
2. Technology
This is the age of information and globalization; and
technology seems to be the backbone of new age businesses. Today, a business
can’t be run the way it was done a few decades ago. Investing in right
technology has become an utmost necessity for any business to remain in the
competition. Technology helps in every sphere of business – boosting up sales,
increasing operational efficiency, building relationships, etc. Keeping
Internet in mind, think about two businesses operating in the same industry –
one carries its activities both online and offline and the other exists offline
only. Who’s got the edge?
3. Environmentally Responsible
Businesses are going green and of-course it’s a right thing
to do. It should not be mistaken that only those businesses that offer
Eco-friendly products fall under environment friendly business. Any
business can be environmentally responsible by taking preventive measures to
protect the environment such as recycling, using energy-efficient equipment's,
or adopting tree planting programs, etc. Being environment friendly not only
helps the business reduce operating costs but also helps in attracting clients
and customers.
4. Socially Responsible
The concept of social responsibility of business is not new
but it’s gaining more momentum now along with consumers’ awareness about it.
Social responsibility is in fact a part of ethical business. Businesses take
all its resources from the society to carry on their activities and make
profit; hence it’s their responsibility to give back by protecting and
improving the welfare of the society and by taking steps to respond to
increasing societal issues. A socially irresponsible business has little chance
to grow and succeed. What are you thinking??
5. Touch of Revolution
How about a business that changes the way something is done (Ex
– Apple iPod for music), changes the way people think of something (Ex –
Mumbai’s Dabbawala), or transforms something into an invaluable stuff (Ex –
Story of Amazon.com?)? A revolution lies in the mission and vision of your
business and this is what I consider to be the chief of all other points
mentioned above. The change you want to bring into this world (or in your country,
locality, whatever!) through your business can have a high impact in your
success. It need not necessarily be a big one. Even just a touch and feel of
change can work great. Condition Apply: Change should be for good!
